If mounting to a solid or rigid surface the base will probably straighten out when bolted down. This is a new motor where the original box was damaged allowing base of to get scuffed and bent little. This motor can be set up for either 3 HP or 5HP depending on the voltage supply and wire hook-ups. The shaft spins smoothly as expected.

The last photo shows the motor when I received it, with plastic wrap still in place just a cardboard base.
