They started turning at a much lower voltage and can be used for speeds voltage s. This is not a PM motor. The shaft size is 5/8, un keyed. The rear of the motor has a vent for attaching hose forced-air cooling.

Theres a removable ring shown on the shaft. I tested them, not at full load or voltage , but they ran easily. The mounting flange/face is 5-1/2 square and the holes are on 4-1/4 centers. The motor weighs almost 30-1/2 lbs.

The connections shown in the picture show blue and green wires for field. I suspect that these motors were removed from very large magnetic tape data machines. The black and white wires are for the armature. I tested the motor in shunt.
